The Finance Committee is mandated by the Code of Canon Law (Canon 537). Its role is to assist the pastor and parish
administration in the control and reporting of parish finances.
Membership is based on individual knowledge of accounting principles, financial management experience, and participation
in parish life.
The finance committee:
- meets regularly to oversee the financial administration of the parish and review the financial documents, including the monthly
revenue and expense statements and balance sheet;
- is advisory in nature and helps ensure sound financial practices are followed;
- is actively engaged in the budget process and in recommending expenditures to the pastor and Parish Council;
- presents an annual report to parishioners at the parish Annual General
Meeting.
